The Iowa AGEP is a collaborative initiative funded jointly by the National Science Foundation, and the three Iowa Regents universities: Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa. The primary goal of the program is to significantly increase the number of PhD degrees awarded to underrepresented U.S. minority students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM fields). For the Summer 2010, potential AGEP students are encouraged to apply to our Summer Opportunity Research Program and the McNair Scholars programs (SROP/MCNAIR). These programs have a rich history of serving students from underrepresented backgrounds in the STEM fields.
